"There’s something remarkably illuminating when a camera records movement as well as stillness to expose the hidden cracks of a story we’ve heard play out all too often in the privacy of homes: that of domestic violence. In the 12 minute video created for Narika, a nonprofit serving victims of domestic violence, that’s exactly what the SOIL team does. The SOIL team of Murali Selvan, Ravi Shankar, Vidya Palaniswamy and Praveen Durairaj are efficient and talented in all aspects of production, from interpreting a client’s needs, working on a script, directing and editing to create a documentary that is both provocative and sensitive. With this documentary, SOIL has added their voice, and a sense of urgency, to the #MeToo movement and to a debate that’s playing out privately and globally."
